Louisiana’s Quiet Gambler.
Mike Johnson came out of the bayou like a Sunday school teacher who accidentally won a high-stakes poker game. Soft-spoken, God-fearing, and armed with a Constitution in one hand and a prayer book in the other, he wasn’t exactly the frontrunner for the Speaker’s gavel — but when the House was in chaos, he slid into the seat with a calm smile and a backbone some didn’t see coming.
He talks values, faith, and small government — and for SphstRDnck folks, that’s a welcome sound. But the seat he’s in is a viper pit, and whether he’s got the grit to stare down D.C.’s permanent class and fight for the forgotten man is still playing out. Being from Louisiana gives him roots — but roots don’t matter if the fruit rots under pressure.
Verdict: SphstRDnck curious. He’s one of ours by geography and talk — time will tell if he walks it when it gets rough.
