American Hospital Association — The Lobby That Puts Profit in a White Coat.
The AHA doesn’t speak for patients. It speaks for hospital CEOs, insurance cronies, and the army of middlemen who turned healthcare into a billion-dollar racket. They fight tooth and nail against price transparency — because if Americans actually saw the markup on a bandage or an MRI, there’d be riots in the parking lot.
Their playbook? Use “access to care” as a shield while bankrupting families, crushing independent clinics, and gobbling up rural hospitals to feed corporate giants. Then they cry poor while executives rake in seven-figure bonuses and hospitals buy art collections and luxury furniture… all “nonprofit,” of course.
They helped write the rules that let hospitals charge you $50,000 for a three-day stay, deny treatment until the insurance paperwork clears, and sue patients into homelessness over unpaid bills. During COVID, they pushed mandates, price hikes, and media fear — and they were rewarded with billions in taxpayer bailouts.
Verdict: Not SphstRDnck.
They wrapped the business of sickness in a halo and dared to call it care. When your pain becomes their profit, it ain’t healthcare — it’s organized extortion.
We don’t need hospital lobbyists. We need hospitals that actually give a damn.
